When my daughter and son walk into their classrooms each day, they are greeted with the Love of Christ. They start their days in prayer; their teachers asking God for His help, wisdom and strength. They pray also for the needs of their families. Any hurts and struggles are offered up to almighty God, who “created the heavens and the earth” (Gen 1:1). What a wonderful foundation for their day of learning! From there they begin their tasks: mathematics, social studies, science and Bible to name a few. Each subject they look at has its own opportunities to reflect and acknowledge God's ways, His power, and His faithfulness. When they encounter difficulty in their work, they are encouraged to call upon the Lord, who is “a very present help in times of need” (Psalms 46:1). When they experience conflict with others in their midst, they are challenged to love one another, and to forgive each other because God has loved and forgiven them. This is “school” to them and has been from the start, what an enormous blessing!
