Kindergarten Beginnings
E.C.S. Kindergarten Beginnings for the week of November 10-14, 2008 Phonics: “Hh” for Holy Spirit, harvest, horses, hearts and hope! Bible: We have started our next Unit in Exodus, where we found, “A Baby in the River.” We will continue with “Moses’ Call,” “Let My People Go,” and we will start “The Plagues” this week. Memory Verse: “Hate evil, you who love the Lord.” Psalm 97:10 Unit Study: We will be discussing harvest and horses. We will also be moving soon into our Science book Unit on “God’s Plan for Weather.” Math: We will be “counting up,” and “counting back” as we continue to work with a number line, and as we practice writing our numbers from 0 – 10 correctly. HAPPY VETERAN’S DAY ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH. There will be NO SCHOOL on this day.There will also be NO CHAPEL this week, due to early dismissal at NOON for conferences. Early dismissal will be on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week.MANY, MANY THANKS TO THE STREDWICK FAMILY for all of their help with transportation to our field trips so far this school year!!OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD This year, our school is participating with the “Operation Christmas Child” program, which is a project of Samaritan’s Purse. If you and your child would like to help bring joy to a needy girl or boy through this program this Christmas, please send $1.00 and one or two small items - that we will package with others - into our class “Shoe Box Gift.” Please see the attached flyer to help with ideas of the items that you could send.
