Dear Parents,

BIBLE
We will be saying goodbye to Joshua and hello to some stories and important lessons that are found in the book of Judges.
We will start our Christmas Passage of John 1:1-3, 10-12. Please help your child memorize this section. The verses are attached to this sheet. These verses, from John, will be our only verses in December. We will practice them in the classroom also.

MATH
• review “Know It Facts” ( 4+5= 6+4=, 7+4=, 7+5=, 8+4=)
• introduce doubles through 14
• problem solving using subtraction
• explore related subtraction facts to 12
• use our different strategies to practice addition and subtraction facts to 14

READING
After a review of the “s” blends the children will be introduced to the tw blend and the three letter blends of scr, spr, spl, str, and squ in phonic books and seatwork. For some children, this group of books are a little more difficult so they may need to read the readers in the Green Folder more that once or twice.

SPELLING (k or ck? Usually: Long vowel= k; Short vowel=ck)

SCIENCE
We will begin our four week Unit on FORCE. A force is a push or a pull. We will have interesting experiments and experiences with:
