6th Grade Curriculum Continued

 

Writing:  Literary forms:  Narrative stories, experiential stories, fictional stories, personal letters. cards, notes, diaries. journals, recounts, rhymes, retellings, poems, plays, biographies and autobiographies, tall tales, comics, personal essays, narrative essays.

6th Grade Curriculum

 

Bible:  Text "A Light  to the Gentiles"  This test delves deep into the message of the gospels.  The students will then move through the teachings of Jesus, his suffering, resurrection and ascension. Extensive time will then be spent with studies focusing on the birth of the church, Paul's mission successes and struggles as the church finds its way and stands firm in the teachings of Jesus Christ.

It is spirit week.

Monday:  Hat and Tie Day

Tuesday Red, White and Blue Day

Wednesday:  Historical Character Day  (wear a costume and you do not have to wear chapel clothes)

Thursday:  Backwards/Inside Out Day

Friday: School Colors Day

4 blue or black pens

300 sheets of college-ruled paper

1 white drawing pad

1 3-ring binder with dividers, 2" wide

2 packages of tab dividers

5 folders for reports

3 college-ruled composition notebooks for science

Fiskars scissors

1 package 3x5 index cards

1 bottle Elmer's glue (not school glue)

1 large roll of paper towel

1 box of Kleenex type tissue

Scotch tape

1 mechanical pencil with extra lead

colored pencils
