3rd Grade
Mid May
It's hard to believe that it's the middle of May! We are having a great time in third grade and still have lots to do! Here is a recap of what we are working on.
In math we are working on larger multiplication problems such as 34 X 5. The students are doing great! We will work on this a little more then move onto geometry before doing a week or so of review.
In Bible class we are finishing up our study on the Israelites concuring Canaan. We will focus on the Judges for the last few weeks. Our memory verse this week is Joshua 24: 14-15.

April Fools
We walk to the library every other Friday. The students love the walk and really enjoy library time. This is what we found when we arrived on April 1st, no fooling! We decided to walk back to the school and continue on to the park. The kids loved the change of pace and we all had a great time. God was so good in that the rain clouds that looked a little scary held off their rain until after school!
April 4, 2011
It's hard to believe that spring break is over and we're zooming toward the end of the year! This group of third graders have grown so much and I am so proud of them. It will be hard to let them go in June! But we have lots of work to do before that, so let me fill you in!
Happy February!
It's hard to believe that it's the middle of February!
We are finishing up our unit on the Ten Commandments and are learning how the Israelites go from following God to turning away from him pretty quickly when things get rough.
In math we just took our first multiplication test and they did GREAT! We will continue to work on multiplication facts and move on to division.
The third graders are getting really good at classifying sentences! We just learned about prepositions and are going to start learning about pronouns and how we use them.

December 1st
It's hard to believe that it's already December. November went by so quickly for us, but we managed to get a lot of learning done in a lot of short weeks!
I hope you are enjoying the new, student made newsletters. It should give you an idea of what we are doing and be a springboard for conversations about school.
Looking forward...We have our Christmas Concert next Wed., Dec. 8th. It will be at 6:30 at the new Central Music building. Students should be there at 6. Each family should bring a plate of cookies to share afterward.
Conferences, Thanksgiving and a busy month!
We have a very busy and short month of November. Conferences are this week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Students are excused at noon on those days. We are back to full days on Thursday and Friday.
Next week is Thanksgiving week already! We have full days on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday is our annual Pilgrim's Picnic. Each class will do a presentation and then have a picnic lunch in our classrooms! I hope you and your family can make it.

Sept. 21 Update
I hope everyone has settled into a routine and getting lots of rest. It didn't take too long.....the first one in the class to get sick was the teacher! I am reminding the students to make sure they are using good hygine practices and washing those hands so we don't keep passing germs around. Right now I'm listening to lots of sniffling and coughing in the class!
