Why do I, as a parent of four children, like Ellensburg Christian School? Learning a little about me may help you to understand my perspective: I have my Master in Education, having taught in MA, NY, and WA at elementary, secondary & college levels.    I am also a single parent, with four children who have attended ECS for their schooling for nine years.   I believe God will take of me if I listen and follow and I have an incredible love for Him. 1st – Class Size.  At ECS, the teacher to student ratio makes it possible for personal and effective teaching and learning.  I love that my kids actually know their teachers and are known by them. 2nd – Another Voice.  I am responsible to teach my children in our home.  ECS provides another voice that holds similar values, respect, and godly training.  I use Biblical scripture at home to support reasons for my actions.  It’s no different at ECS.  I believe there are things I want to share with my children but they will not hear from me, as a parent.  3rd -    Teachers who take time to care.   I appreciate that I have access to teachers daily, via phone, e-mail, or notes.  It’s like we are a team in the education and development of my children. 4th – My kids choose ECS.  ECS students go on regular field trips such as an afternoon CWU concert or going to Pacific Northwest Historical places.  This year my 9th grader will go to Mexico with others in his Spanish class to build homes.  My 8th grader will accompany a group of peers to the East Coast and visit historical sites. 5th  - There are many other reasons, including a superb education, a diverse Christian family from varying denominations, children from other cultural and language groups, and a strong feeling of teamwork in the education and training of our children and families!    My question is this:  If God wants the best for you and your children, why wouldn’t you consider ECS?  No, it’s not for everyone.  BUT, please don’t let earthly concerns or fears keep you from listening and following Him if he says “Yes” to ECS for your family!
